The Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale has successfully held two editions, establishing itself as the nation’s premier academic platform for global exchange in porcelain art. Attracting wide attention and earning strong recognition from both the academic community and the international art world, the Biennale both plays a crucial role in advancing the high-standard development of the Jingdezhen National Ceramic Culture Inheritance and Innovation Experimental Zone and serves as an important academic and practical reference for the global exchange and promotion of porcelain culture.
Ceramics--a fusion of science and art--stands as an enduring symbol of human civilization. In today’s digital era, we must ask questions such as: “What is the future of ceramics?” “How can we deepen the connection between its historic brilliance, contemporary diversity, and future potential across both Eastern and Western traditions?” “How might timeless craftsmanship and rapidly evolving technology converge to reinvent porcelain in new forms, sustaining the creative legacy of human culture?” In response to these and many more questions, the third Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale will be held in June 2026 in Jingdezhen, China. Centered on the theme The Future of Ceramics, the exhibition will use ceramics as a medium to explore bold new paths for innovation and the evolution of contemporary global ceramic art.
